Almost, Maine AUDITIONS AUDITION DATES: Mon, Jan 19 at 6pm Sat,Jan 24 at 10am LOCATION: Lobby of the Kress Theater, 1102 3rd St, Alexandria, LA PERFORMANCE DATES: April 16-26, 2026 Cast needed: 2-9m, 2-10w(flexible casting) Characters: PETE (M) and GINETTE (F), who have been dating for a little while, but still get nervous around each other. EAST (M), a repairman who’s purpose in life is to fix things, and GLORY( F), a hiker who has come a long way to see the northern lights JIMMY(M), a heating and cooling guy who still thinks about his Ex and blames himself; SANDRINE (F), his ex-girlfriend; WAITRESS (F), she’s spicy. STEVE (M), an open, kind fellow whose brother protects him from the world, and MARVALYN (F), a woman who has gotten good at protecting herself. LENDALL (M) and GAYLE (F), longtime girlfriend and boyfriend, almost too long. – RANDY (M) and CHAD (M) , two manly men who like bro time more than going on dates with girls. PHIL (M) , a working man who provides for his family, and MARCI (F) his lonely wife. HOPE(F), who has traveled the world leaving behind everything to escape her small town, and DANIEL (M), a man who was left behind. RHONDA (F), a tough woman, and DAVE (M), the not-so-tough man who loves her. – About the Characters: The people of Almost, Maine are ordinary people who work hard and live with honesty and truth. Sometimes they take time to wonder about things, but when they say these things out loud, they are speaking from their heart. These people are dealing with the toughest thing there is to deal with in life: love.
Misery by William Goldman Oct 8-18 “Misery” follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does. Directed by Jared Guillory *Adult language, violence, and intense scenes.
Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang Aug 13-23 Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments flare up, eventually leading to threats to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose prettiness somewhat worries the imperious Masha. Winner of the 2013 Tony Award® for Best Play. Directed by Diane Falcone *Mature themes and mild language.
